Creative Industry Status
The Department for Culture, Media, and Sport in the United Kingdom recognizes nine distinct creative sectors within the industry: advertising and marketing, architecture, crafts, design, film, information technology, publishing, museums and libraries, and performing and visual arts. So it is safe to say that the creative industry is a multi-faceted entity, stretching across a broad range of professional fields. But because of its diversity, it becomes necessary to be able to distinguish what qualifies as a creative sector. This is accomplished through a set of criteria, for which creative industries should score higher than non-creative industries. These criteria include demand uncertainty, originality, diversely skilled inputs, and vertically differentiated skills.
The facilities that house these different operations vary as much as the businesses within them; they can range from expansive, multi-level museums to small design studios. But regardless of the industry or the size of the building, it is essential that the facilities are well-maintained, clean, and functional, so that the business and its employees can perform at an optimal level. That’s where Kohl Building Maintenance Inc. comes in.
